Bangladesh vs Pakistan, 1st T20I – Match Highlights & Full Commenter
Bangladesh had a strong start to the series, continuing their good form after winning the recent T20 series in Sri Lanka. Playing at home, they are tough to beat in these conditions. Litton Das (Bangladesh captain): We know this pitch well because we’ve played a lot of matches in Mirpur. It’s not easy to bat here, but we batted well. In the second innings, the ball was easier to play, probably because of the dew. Our bowlers did a good job and took early wickets. Sometimes you see amazing catches, and sometimes even good players drop simple ones. We know how well Mustafizur (Fizz) bowls in Mirpur. Shakib and Taskin also bowled well. That’s a good sign. If you look at our last few T20 games, our top 4 batters have stayed longer and scored runs. Hridoy is more experienced now and understands the game better, and Emon batted really well.
Parvez Hossain Emon (Player of the Match): I’m happy that our team won. We stayed positive and looked for chances to score. I really enjoyed hitting those sixes.
Salman Ali Agha (Pakistan batter): We didn’t score enough runs. We started okay, but kept losing wickets. We’ll talk about it and try to do better in the next match. When you come to Bangladesh, you expect pitches like this. Good pitches are rare here. We needed to rotate the strike more. Our bowlers did well, but when you're defending only 110 runs, there’s no room for mistakes. That’s how T20 cricket is — we have to keep learning. Wins and losses are part of the game.

It was a comfortable win for Bangladesh on a difficult pitch. Their bowlers started things off by bowling really well, and their batters, especially Parvez Hossain Emon, finished the job. Although Pakistan got two early wickets thanks to Salman Mirza, Emon and Hridoy fought back with attacking shots. That made the chase much easier. Emon stayed till the end and helped Bangladesh win. It’s not very common to see Bangladesh beating Pakistan, so this was a great team effort. Pakistan looked a bit rusty, and their wicketkeeper Mohammad Haris had a bad day, dropping two easy catches. The only bright spot for them was their debutant Salman Mirza, who bowled well. Stay tuned for more updates.

15.1: Salman Mirza bowled a length ball just outside off stump. Emon tried to hit it and edged it, but wicketkeeper Haris dropped an easy catch. This was the second catch he dropped in the match.

15.2 (wide): Mirza bowled the ball too far down the leg side. Haris did well to stop it with one hand.

15.2 (re-bowled): This time Emon hit a short ball to sweeper cover and took a single.

15.3: Jaker Ali hit a short ball over mid-on for a four, sealing the win for Bangladesh and giving them a 1-0 lead in the series.
