Alaska Airlines Flights Resume After Nationwide IT Outage
SEATAC, Wash. — Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air had to stop all of their flights across the country for a few hours on Sunday night. This was because they had a problem with their computer system, which happened around 8 p.m.
The flights were allowed to start again at 11 p.m. after the issue was fixed.
More than 200 flights at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (also called Sea-Tac) were delayed because of this problem.
The airline said that even though flights are flying again, there may still be delays while they try to get planes and staff back to where they need to be.
They also told people who were planning to fly on Sunday night to check their flight status before going to the airport, just in case their flight was delayed or changed.
